According to the 2011 National Survey on STEM education, STEM educators reported a lack of funding and professional development for teachers as the two major barriers to the realization of 21st century classrooms. Due to the growing need for quality STEM training and material many education grant sources are placing STEM education as a top priority at all grade levels.
