Harmon Elementary School, Clark County School District, NV, won the grand prize in Best Buy’s STEM lab sweepstakes. The prize is a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) lab, consisting of one MakerBot Replicator 5th Generation 3D printer, one Sphero EDU Kit, 10 ASUS Chromebook flipbooks and one STEM Fuse Curriculum. The total value of these prizes is $11,585. Fourth-grade teacher Brenda Blee entered to win by opening a Twitter account and Tweeting about how this lab would help students use innovation to create a better world. Principal Shannon Schumm said, “By providing this technology for our students, Best Buy is not only showing us their amazing generosity, but that they are dedicated and committed to help us in our mission to create problem solvers, collaborators and critical thinkers in order to build a brighter future.”
